Bought timber at the Amsterdamse Fijnhouthandel and hardware at The Tonefactory and Vox Humana.
A brief overview:
The whole shabang. Left to right/top to bottom:
Bookmatched sheets of fiddleback maple, birdseye maple piece for
the neck (in the pic already made into a rough neck blank), truss rod, actual size drawing,
piece of limba (white korina) for the body, Sperzel locking tuners, Graphtech Trem-Nut,
Dunlop 6105 frets, black joint screws with inserts, black strapholders, fretfile,
fretboard protector, volume en tone knobs and potentiometers, SG-style pickup switch,
small SPDT switch, input socket, shielded wire and copper tape for cavity shielding.
Bookmatched fiddleback maple sheets for the top of the body. Rather crudely sawn. I planed a small portion of the rightside pane to expose the fiddleback figuring, just visible in the middle of the picture.
I constructed the neck blank to consist of five pieces glued together with alternating grain directions for stability. After that it was time for the band saw, a little planing, little rasping and this neck is on it's way to totally rock.
I'll go into the how's and why's later but I just couldn't wait to show off this wonderful loot. :) Only thing that's missing now would be a Hipshot tremolo bridge. Vox Humana didn't have it on stock but they expected it to arrive in a week or so. More later!
